Who we are
Beyond Woodwork & Craft PBO is a community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to equipping vulnerable youth, women, and persons with disabilities in coastal Kenya with market-relevant skills and pathways to sustainable livelihoods. Established in 2025, the organization serves as the social empowerment arm of Relim Services Ltd, a local enterprise that provides infrastructure, technical expertise, and enterprise-linked sustainability models. Our mission is grounded in equity, dignity, creativity, and inclusion, with a focus on youth from the informal settlements of Mtomondoni, Mikanjuni, Mwavitzwa, and Mzambarauni.
Our Delivery Ecosystem
Our programmes are delivered through a community-linked ecosystem that blends infrastructure, mentorship, and enterprise opportunities:
- Relim Sports Center – Full-sized artificial turf soccer pitch, basketball court, dedicated chess training room, and floodlights for safe evening sessions.
- Relim Furniture & Décor Workshop – A fully equipped carpentry and design facility that doubles as a training and production hub.
- Community Ventures Hub – Income-generating microenterprises (e.g., carwash, grooming services, and salon) that create jobs and cross-subsidize programme costs.
This integrated model combines physical activity, cognitive training, practical craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and psychosocial support, ensuring holistic youth development.
